“vida en tierra” opening

Last night we hosted the first L.V.A.N. art show since our 2 month break.  The artist they selected was Jonathan Labbe, a local skater who’s also a talented sculptor.  We had a great turn out of skaters, Jon’s friend’s and family and a lot of random people who were in the southside for First Friday on a nice November night.

“Yerba Mate (pronounced “yerba mahtay”) is a medicinal and cultural drink of ancient origins. Introduced to the world by the Guarani Indians of South America, Mate contains ingredients that help keep its drinkers healthy and energetic.”

The early crowd.

Dipped out for a bit to get some “real” food.

Went across the street to Loose Threads for their First Friday festivities.

They had the works of a local artist on display as well.  I’m drawing a blank on his name but he was there and his work was awesome.

The 3 or 4 ladies that read our blog should definitely stop by check them out since we don’t have a very good selection of women’s apparel.

Max brought a bag of candy so we decided to see who could put the most warheads in our mouths without making a sourface or tear up.

Max teared up but we were both losers.  My tongue feels like I burned it on hot coffee and I haven’t been able to taste anything.  Hope it’s not permanent.

After everyone left I started cleaning and was left with this in the bathroom.

Thanks for coming out!

* Jonathan’s show will be running through the end of the year with the chance of a 2nd opening reception in December to showcase some new pieces.
