the future looks bright.

This Summer Homebase has partnered up with Northampton Community College’s “Horizons For Youth” program to offer a Introduction to Skateboarding, Beginner’s Skateboarding and Intermediate Skateboarding class to 3rd through 6th graders.

We teach each class the basics of skateboarding, how to skate safe, skateplaza etiquette and most of all, that skateboarding is something you do on your own, in your own way and always for fun.

The Intro class started on Monday and it has the largest attendance out of all the Summer programs offered at NCC.  I’ve been doing most of the talking about tricks and AJ Rogers has been actually showing them how they’re done.  Since its an intro class we’re mainly focusing on pushing, turning and stopping. . . . which I can handle pretty good.

Thursday we take our first trip to the Bethlehem Skateplaza to show them what they can learn to skate if they keep practicing and having fun.  Should be a learning experience for everyone.
