progression: pouring ledges at the bethlehem skateplaza

More progress was made on the Bethlehem Skateplaza (Did you vote yet today?) on Wednesday March 17th.

Cement was poured on the first 50 feet of ledges on the one side of Phase 1.  Yes, the first 50 ledges- meaning there will be another 25 feet of ledges getting formed and poured before all is said and done. . . Stop by and check out the progress.

Bring these guys coffee or Slurpees if you can.  They’re doing a great service to skateboarders all over the East Coast.

Just wait til you see the footage filmed for The Berrics Field Ops- this clip will look like it was filmed on a Fisher Price “My First Camcorder.”

Architect on the design team, Erich Hornung took these pictures the next day.  Yeah, things are looking promising aren’t they?

Just in case you’re thinking “Wow, those ledges look high” don’t worry- there’s about 8-10 inches of cement being laid on the ground too.  And if you’re thinking “Wow, those ledges look low” don’t worry- the next 25 feet of ledges are about a foot higher.  Step your ollie game up now.

The forms for the replica of the “China Banks” has also been started.  How is it that people still ask me “So, do you think the City will actually build the skateplaza?”  Seriously?  Wow. . .

The next 25 feet of ledges leading up to our replica of the Barcelona uphill manuel pad into steep bank are formed and waiting for their cement shower.

Want to build more than just this section of the skateplaza?  Then tell all those people not voting for The Bethlehem Skateplaza on the Pepsi Refresh Project to get their votes in now and everyday til the end of the month.
