Back to the Banks and Manny Mania probably make up the biggest weekend for skateboarding in New York. So many kids at the spots that are normally deserted, a lot of pros you only see in magazine’s can be spotted roaming around the City or lurking around dive bars and good times around every corner if you look right.
A bunch of heads rolled up and spent the weekend differently so peep Geech’s Blog to see John Cardiel and Julien Stranger hitting on my girlfriend and Brendan has good pics from the 5Boro Party and fanned out on Brandy’s apartment.
Here’s what I came out with. I suggest every skater who lives on the east coast that complains about not having spots to skate get up off their ass and drive or take a bus to NYC. It’s not that far and its really one of the most amazing places to skate in the world. Get out of the Valley every once and a while.
Back to the Banks.

Took my time getting to the banks so it was way to crowded to see anything so I spent the day skating around downtown with the homies and going back to the banks- no pun intended, to see what was going down.
Night Time is the Right Time.
I figured you’ll see all the skating in the video clips so here’s what the nightlife was like that weekend.

The Es’ Bobby Worrest Shoe Release Party got shut down pretty much right as we roleld up. Bubba, Wes, Brendan and Mike had a good time inside- peep their sites for pictures.
Do you see ‘Nandez in the background?

Mr. Mighty Healthy

Headed to Max Fish where we ended up seeing Bobby Worrest anyway. These dudes were there too. Nick Diamond- Diamond Supply Co and Twitter monster with Felix Argu-something, Shut Skateboards . . . oh, and Famous.

Geech was hyped on a drunk Julien Stranger.

The one of the only dudes I’d fan out on- John Cardiel. Peep the Epicly Later’d.
Red Bull Manny Mania.

Off DQM’s Twitter: Jeru the Damaja at Manny Mania- oh, and I’m there too.
Thanks to Drew & Keith from Red Bull, Alex from Etnies, Danny Pensyl, Chase from CONS and Sean from In4mation for the heklp getting wristbands.
To everyone who thinks Mike Mo took this contest, you have to realize he only landed a few of the tricks they’re showing you in the finals. The fakie bigflip manuel was done in the semi-finals. I think the nollie heel nose manuel and the halfcab manuel bs flip were the only 2 tricks landed- in the 7 minutes of the finals.
Eli Reed killed it every heat. He definitely landed the most tricks in the finals and held it down the hardest.
Congrats to Kelly Hart from L-R-G and all the L-R-G homies, Cheeks, Rodrigo, Adelmo, Jack and Rob G that were in town. I’m holding you to that demo Tyrone- the 610 wants an L-R-G demo this Summer.
Red Bull’s Philly Manny Mania Am Series.

This photo has nothing to do with Philly’s Manny Mania- I just wanted to fit it in this post. These “skateable art” obstacles will be at the Manhattan Park for everyone to skate for a while I guess. Thanks Team Pain.
But yeah, head down to Philly to see some of Homebase’s finest battling it out at the Philly Manny Mania Am Series contest on June 27th at Rizzo Park- aka the 95 ledge spot.
