larry fink: 45 years of photography coming to homebase
Larry Fink has been speaking to people through his lenses for over 45 years- from everyday Americans to Hollywood stars. His photos have graced the halls of Lehigh’s Zoelllner Arts Center, the pages of Vanity Fair and the walls MOMA. Tomorrow, he will be shooting at Homebase thanks to Laini’s Little Pocket Guide. An article will be running in the 2nd edition of the Bethlehem Pocket Guide titled “Why I live on Southside.” We’re encouraging all our friends and customers to be part of this experience to document what a typical day at Homebase is like. Stop by anytime after 12pm. . .
I’m no photographic expert- most of what I’m exposed to is skateboarding and fashion related but it’s easy to see from his body of work that capturing life’s flashing moments plays a big part in Mr. Fink’s photography. A passing glance, a moment of weakness, a subtle touch and anxious anticipation are fleeting expressions that surface for an instant then are swallowed up by the need to be composed in public. These types of moments are what make Mr. Fink’s work so human. . . at least to me.
