There’s a huge movement happening across the country to stand strong and support the independent businesses in our community. In Bethlehem, that movement is headed up by the Downtown Bethlehem Assosciation and the upstarts from *livelocal Southside Bethlehem. The DBA umbrella’s the efforts of *livelocal which include promoting local businesses like Homebase, the local music scene, arts community and essentially all the things that make life in Bethlehem better.
Homebase is a small business is a limited amount of money to invest in marketing. We depend on word of mouth, social media and hosting local skating events to get the word out to the community about who we were- and where we are. Hello Burrito is a small business that does the same thing we do for marketing except they make burritos, wraps and homemade soups. Good ones at that.
The DBA has a program that links up 2 businesses on opposite sides of the river to help with expand the business’s reach. Basically, what all that means is Homebase & Hello Burrito are collaborating in July to bring you some sweet deals at both locations and some events you can look forward to whether you’re hungry to eat or hungry to shred.
To start things off, on First Friday July 1st at our 9 Years of Skateboarding in the 610 Art Show inside Homebase, Hello Burrito will be catering with free samples of their wraps and burritos.
*We’ll have details about some month-long deals at Homebase and Hello Burrito when you bring in reciepts from either location. Plus, there might possibly be a “Homebase-urrito” that you can order at Hello Burrito for the month of July.
*Details for an end of the month party at Hello Burrito are being worked out that also include food, bands and a local skate video contest where the winning team will get prizes and a Skateplaza Benefit Brick.
Just finished eating my burrito I ordered while talking to them about this event- I’m stuffed, going to take a nap.
