coming to first friday cures winter depression.

February is definitely not my favorite month of the year but you know what, it’s better than January.

Why?  Because it’s closer to March which closer to Spring.

Nevertheless, we have to make the best of this drab but short month.  No better way to start it off with a big First Friday.  Isn’t there a big football game on this weekend to?

Homebase x L.V.A.N. Present “Plurrimi Altus Vernula.”  New work by J.D.G.

His work has been on the walls of Homebase since January and you might have noticed the work he did on our windows over the Holidays too.

J.D.G. is also a local musician who plays several instruments along with making beats too.  There’s a theory that every color is associated with a specific frequency that’s tied to a certain musical note.  Maybe J’s talent in music is what helps him put together all these interesting and visually pleasing color palettes?

In addition to properly introducing the public to his artwork, we will also be playing J.D.G.’s latest music project, The Stunt Doubles.  J did all the production on the album which weaves samples from different movies between the tracks to tell a story.

The Stunt Doubles album will be available for purchase and a portion of the sales will be donated to The Bethlehem Skateplaza.

battle Winter Depression.

If you’re in Philadelphia on Friday. . .

The premiere of Chris Mulhern’s latest skateboard film, “This Time Tomorrow” is going down at the Trocadero.

Themed around the transition from day to night skating, “This Time Tomorrow” will feature the talent of Devon Connell, Jimmy McDonald, Curtis Rapp, Dave Caddo, Brendan Granstrand and Will Harmon.  Filming has taken place over the course of 3 years, with almost 9 months spent abroad in such locales as London, Paris, Lyon, Rome, Berlin, Athens, Venice, Trieste and Montreal.  Even so, the majority of the film was shot right here in Philadelphia, a city absent in many of today’s video projects and long forgotten by the industry.

A good amount of the Homebase shop team will be heading down so roll down if you want to mob up and represent the 610.  Who knows, you might just see some you know on the screen.

Right Nik?  Right Kyle?
