*I’ve actually written and lost this post 2 times. It’s super late, Agenda NY is already done, you’ve already seen all the coverage from the HUF x Haroshi party on other blogs so let me give you the shortened version of the trip. AKA- Mostly, the stuff I ate.

Agenda Long Beach was done. Headed back to LA and got a proper greeting from my older brother and nephew, Desmond.

And the first thing we do in LA is eat at Mario’s, a look-key looking Peruvian restaurant that always has a mob of people waiting to get in. Probably the best ceviche I’ve ever had.

If you have a lot of stuff to do, I don’t recommend eating Lomo Saltado for lunch. Meat, onions, french fries AND rice= food coma.

So remember that photo I was looking for on The Hundreds Blog then realized it was all blacked out to protest SOPA? This is that photo.

Tepper and crew killed the wall of De La Barracuda in honor of Pepper. RIP

After seeing all the renovation photos on Instagram, I had to stop by the Diamond Flagship store to see everything for myself. Killed it.

I think my brother only comes to Fairfax when I’m in town.

Did my “research” and checked out all the usual suspects on the block: The Hundreds, RVCA, DOPE, Reserve, Supreme, Flight Club, Hall of Fame and the new Odd Future shop where HUF was.

Damn, dinner already. California Shabu Shabu. We need one of these in the Lehigh Valley.

Matt Pepe reminds me a lot of myself back when I was filming for City Without Spots before Homebase was open.

He works, goes to school and spends all his free time skating, shooting photos and filming. Not just at the local spots and plaza, but he’s always traveling to Philly, NJ and NYC with his crew.

On these trips he meets up with skaters from other cities that end up coming to Bethlehem to check out our spots. Whether he knows it or not, he’s helping grow the skateboarding scene in the 610. It’s a cliche now but that’s what’s unique about skating- you can become friends with anyone else just based on the fact you all skate.

HUF partners up with Tokyo-based Artist Haroshi and bay area skateboard distributor on a limited edition collaboration. This collection is being carried at only 20 selected spots in the United States so we’re very honored that Homebase was selected to be a part of this project.

Haroshi has a beautiful process that has taken him years to develop. Get familiar with the art side of the collaboration and then when you see the clothing, footwear and accessories HUF and Deluxe Distirbution it will all make sense. . .

Sometimes things just fall together. The SkoolKill Crew holds it down in the hometown of our favorite PA beer, Yuengling and Deal With It is their newest video . . . well, sort of.

“We ended up making this video by accident really. Me and Craig had been out filming for fun during the spring and summer, and just stacking up clips for no real reason.

Around October I told him that he had enough for a full part that I could just upload to YouTube, just so we could put the footage out there.

Then I remembered that I had a bunch of old footage of Joel I never used… some of the stuff we filmed like 4 years ago or something. So it was pretty old.

So then I thought of doing a mini video with just Joel and Craig, kinda like Organika did that one time with Walker Ryan and Zach Lyons, but obviously not on that level. Haha.

I asked Matt if he wanted a part in it, because we were filming a lot for the (now defunct) Keystone video, but he said he wanted to save his footy for something else.

I edited Craig’s part first and showed it to a couple other people and everyone was pretty psyched. That’s when Matt said he wanted to be in it and he had a bunch of throwaway and older VX footy he never used.

After Matt’s first edit, he was psyched and wanted to throw some of his good footy in so it all worked out.

Craig came up with the name Deal With It because we knew the tricks in the video were mostly for fun, throwaway, and nothing really fancy so we kind of figured people were going to hate on it, so if they did, we could just say “deal with it.” Haha

So that’s basically it. the video was 4 years in the making and we didn’t really know it. Craig is really the only person who filmed for this video recently, which is why his stuff is in high def.

Overall it just turned out to be a fun bro video, since we obviously don’t take skating too seriously. HAHA. Thanks again!

SB Chronicles is premiering all over the world through the power of this contraption called the Interweb which is allowing Nike SB to debut this monster of a video on location in LA, NY, in over 200 skateshops and thousands of houses around the world so the video is DEFINITELY STARTING AT 7PM E.S.T.- SHARP.

I suggest getting to Homebase by 630pm to get a good seat because this might be a crowded premiere.

I figure Nike should tell you about their new video we’re premiering at Homebase THIS SATURDAY. . .

“The SB Chronicles, Vol. 1″ is the new feature-length Nike SB video project. It is the first of three films in the “SB Chronicles” video series, and will premiere online December 3rd, 2011 at 7 PM EST.

Shot entirely in HD, “The Nike SB Chronicles, Vol.1″ was filmed on location around the world in the streets and parks of Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Dubai, and the United States. “The Nike SB Chronicles, Vol.1″ was by shot by Jason Hernandez and showcases full parts from Nike SB team riders Youness Amrani,Chet Childress, Clark Hassler, Stefan Janoski, Lewis Marnell, Daniel Shimizu, Grant Taylor, and Wieger Van Wageningen, as well as an eclectic soundtrack featuring artists selected by the skaters themselves.
