cutting it up with andy v. (nyuck, nyuck)

Andy Vasquez is a talented individual- on and off his board but he’d never tell you that. I’ve known him since his early BM2K days and have been proudly watching him mature from the sidelines into an amazingly creative friend. His latest venture is his wood working company and website: www.AndyVasquezFurniture.com. He had one [...]

first friday: jaguar nono opening at homebase & skateplaza fundraiser at home & planet

We ain’t scared to drop a LVAN art show banger for a cold November First Friday. You know why?
It’s because it’s Jaguar NoNo. One of the founders of the L.V.A.N., local skater (local legend in my book), Homebase manager, graf writer, vinyl toy customizer, hip-hop historian and all around good dude to know. Get to [...]
while you were sleeping: the rink st. fair

Skateboarding has always been closely tied to art and music. Every skateboard graphic that isn’t a logo is pretty much worthy of hanging on a your wall. The Faction, Flogging Molly, Bad Shit, The Goat, Bad American and even Muscle Revolution are all bands that have skaters in them.
So when Loose Threads asked if we’d [...]

cross blog: kurtz & wooler weekend

This past First Friday we debuted the Andrew Kurtz & Jeff Wooler’s L.V.A.N. Art Show at Homebase to a packed house of both “Hipsters & Hillbillies” from all over the Valley and beyond. Most likely the reason they named their show that.
I stole these photos from the following blogs: Lazy Hairy Boy, JaguarNoNo, Kuato Lives [...]

Homebase Skateshop & The L.V.A.N. are proud to present our May/June artist(s): Andrew Kurtz & Jeff Wooler on Friday May 7th.
I’m not sure what the name of the show is since Kurtz texted me it was “Hipsters & Hillbillys” but the flyer says something else. After looking at the next few pictures I’m sure the [...]
a first friday full of surprises

March’s First Friday was full of all sorts of surprises and goodtimes.
Homebase hosted the opening of our longtime friend, Brett Barto’s art show “It Goes On.” Before the crowds really gathered to see Brett’s collection of prints and photographs we had a little surprised for another longtime friend of Homebase, Billy Kurtz. He’s probably reading [...]
this friday “it goes on.” new photographs by brett barto

I know everyone is stuck to their computers voting for the Bethlehem Skateplaza on the Pepsi Refresh but take a break- after you vote- and come out to Homebase on Friday night for March’s Homebase x L.V.A.N. opening for our good friend Brett Barto’s art show “It Goes On.”
Brett is an accomplished graphic designer who’s [...]

You may have had the chance to meet this month’s L.V.A.N. artists JDG while he was hooking up our window before the the Holidays. He was in there for a good 3 weeks straight and he was so still while working some people thought he was a mannequin.
We hung his show a few days ago [...]
